The Senior Geophysicist will have a strong focus on the exploration of subsurface reservoirs for CO2 mineralisation and the monitoring and verification of CO2 storage using geophysical methods (seismic, DAS, DTS, electromagnetic and gravity). The role requires knowledge of carbon capture and storage (CCS), and technical expertise of applying geophysical methods for characterising igneous rock reservoirs to support 44.01’s ambitious and innovative carbon removal operations. The Senior Geophysicist will lead and manage the Exploration team.

• Directing and leading geophysical surveys and investigations for reservoir characterisation and monitoring and verification of CO2 mineralisation.
• Oversee field data collection with focus on microseismic monitoring, DAS, DTS and electromagnetic surveys.
• Oversee and review data processing and interpretation.
• Prepare reports, scientific publications and presentations.
• Lead and manage 44.01’s Exploration team.
• Support the Head of MRV in executing the companies monitoring, reporting and verification strategy.
• Supervise and liaise with 3^rd party service providers and consultants.
• Participate in the day-to-day operation and execution of the company’s strategy.

• Geophysicist with expert knowledge in geophysical data collection, data processing and interpretation, ideally related to microseismic monitoring, DAS & DTS and/or electromagnetics in CCS.
• Preferred Master of Science degree in Geophysics.
• 5-10 years of experience in related field.
• Strong believer and advocate of sustainability and negative emissions.
• Ability to work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Skilled at data analysis, coding, problem-solving, critical thinking, and multi-tasking.
• Able to work autonomously and remotely but willing to travel to 44.01 field sites and offices in Oman, UAE and UK.
• Experience in working with diverse and international teams of engineers, scientists and consultants.
• Having a thorough and methodical approach to your work with paying attention to details.
