Technical Recruiter Overview
The Technical Recruiter at Aetherflux will own full-cycle hiring for technical roles across engineering, science, and technical operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in early-stage, deep-tech environments and enjoys partnering closely with technical leaders to build teams from the ground up.
You’ll play a critical role in shaping the company’s talent strategy by sourcing hard-to-find profiles and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles, as well as some non-technical and production roles

Partner closely with the founder and hiring managers to:
Define hiring needs in ambiguous or evolving problem spaces
Calibrate technical requirements and hiring bar
Prioritize hiring based on company milestones and timelines

Proactively source candidates using:
LinkedIn, referrals, technical networks, and creative outbound strategies
Non-traditional talent pools across space, energy, aerospace, defense, and deep-tech startups
Craft and iterate on outreach messaging to improve response rates

Conduct recruiter screens assessing:
Technical depth (at a high level)
Ownership mindset and problem-solving ability
Fit for an early-stage, fast-moving environment
Coordinate interviews, manage feedback loops, and guide candidates through the process
Track pipeline metrics and provide hiring insights to leadership
Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and candidate experience
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical recruiting
Proven experience hiring for hardware, space, energy, robotics, or deep-tech roles
Strong sourcing skills and comfort with outbound recruiting for technical talent
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate credibly with engineers and technical leaders
Experience operating in ambiguous environments with evolving requirements
High ownership mindset and bias toward action
Exceptional organizational skills
Startup experience (Seed–Series B) strongly preferred
Knowledge of recruiting metrics, funnel optimization, and partnering with external agencies are nice to have
Compensation and Benefits
$110 - $175k per year
