ArkeaBio is a pioneer in developing technology to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions

from the agricultural sector. Backed by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, ArkeaBio is using

innovative vaccine technologies to create solutions to reduce the on-farm methane emissions

responsible for 6% of global GHG emissions. ArkeaBio technology will be integrated into

proven delivery systems and farming practices to safely reduce global methane emissions

from multiple ruminant species across a variety of geographies and agronomic systems.

Job Summary

This role is an integral part of the Analytical Team at ArkeaBio. This is a unique

opportunity to directly impact the technical progress of the company by generating essential

materials and data, while also helping improve our methods and assays.

Description

The Research Associate I/II/III is responsible for executing and improving experimental protocols, including analysis of field trial samples by methods such as ELISA. This position will also support the production, QC, and formulation of research vaccines using techniques such as bacterial protein expression & purification.

Key Responsibilities

The Research Associate requires a passionate, detail oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively within the analytical team and across R&D teams in support of Arkea’s vaccine development pipeline. A successful Research Associate will perform the following:

  • Handling of field trial samples including sera and saliva
  • Execution and analysis of multiple assay types including ELISAs, dot blots.
  • Assay development and optimization
  • Cloning, expression, and purification of proteins
  • Analysis and communication of results

Preferred Qualifications /Skills

  • BS/MS in biological science
  • Curiosity with a passion for learning
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to work closely with members of the technical team
  • Experience developing and running ELISA assays
  • Experience with protein purifications
  • Familiarity with FACS, western blot, walkup automation desirable
