ArkeaBio technology will be integrated into proven delivery systems and farming practices to safely reduce global methane emissions from multiple ruminant species across a variety of geographies and agronomic systems.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ruminant Technology Technician to manage and maintain advanced livestock research equipment, including GreenFeed and GrowSafe systems. This role involves regular system calibrations + troubleshooting, field study monitoring and data reporting. This role will work closely with Texas A&M AgriLife Research, primarily at McGregor Research Center, to ensure seamless collaboration and precise field study protocol execution. You will play a pivotal role in advancing a solution to reduce livestock methane emissions and support meaningful research advancements in ruminant science.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular calibration + routine maintenance of GreenFeed + GrowSafe systems to ensure reliable function and accurate data collection.
  • Troubleshoot + resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime; if needed, coordinate required service and/or repair with the equipment manufacturer.
  • Maintain detailed + organized records of system maintenance activities + calibration results, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Serve as a study monitor during field sample collections to ensure precise execution of research protocols; close coordination with Texas A&M AgriLife Research, who is responsible for animal husbandry and sample collections, will be required.
  • Record and/or register field study sample collections in data records template or electronic data capture (EDC) system.
  • Communicate effectively with Texas A&M AgriLife Research to address challenges as needed + ensure research protocols are followed.
  • If candidate has large animal handling experience, occasionally support Texas A&M AgriLife Research staff with animal husbandry tasks related to ArkeaBio projects; all tasks to be confirmed by on-site Operations Manager prior to execution

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., animal science, ruminant nutrition).
  • Must be available to work on-site in McGregor, Texas and, possibly, in College Station, Texas.
  • Strong technical + mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance + calibration.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate regular system calibration, data management, and sample collection activities; sample collections are expected to take place M-F, with specific start time determined by Texas A&M AgriLife Research.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and precise in data handling + record-keeping.
  • Familiarity with agricultural or livestock research, including gas flux measurements, is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication + interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration with internal + external research teams.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with GreenFeed systems
  • Experience with GrowSafe systems
  • Experience handling large animals, specifically cattle; responsibilities for animal handling are critical and, if appropriate, will be determined based on the candidate
