Internship: Regulatory Student Associate

BIOMILQ is focused on developing technology that utilizes the unique potential of human mammary cells to produce functional human milk components outside of the body. We are R&D-stage, science-led, and diligently working to bring more of the benefits of breast milk to more babies.

We are looking for a Regulatory Student Associate to join our team this summer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina! This internship is expected to be around 10-12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates based on the student’s schedule.

About the Position

Responsibilities & Core Areas of Learning

  • As a Regulatory Student Associate, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to regulatory projects that play a crucial role in advancing our mission.
  • You will be responsible for conducting research on current regulatory requirements and industry trends related to mammary biotechnology. You will be assigned a specific regulatory project and be responsible for writing a comprehensive report and presenting the work to the team.
  • Assist in ensuring that the company's products and processes comply with all relevant regulations and standards in the mammary biotechnology industry.
  • You will get hands-on experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment and competitive landscape of novel early-life nutrition products and biotechnology.

  • You have a strong interest in regulatory affairs within the biotechnology industry
  • You have excellent organization and communication skills
  • You are detail-oriented with the ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory requirements, and you can compile information into a digestible format
  • You feel comfortable doing literature research on a daily basis and working on your project independently while being supported by the team
  • You enjoy working collaboratively with a broad and diverse team and stepping outside of your comfort zone
  • You're naturally inclined to think critically and creatively to work through murky problems with limited resources
  • You hold yourself and others to the utmost ethical standards in all scientific and professional endeavors

Qualifications & Experience

Education

    • Undergraduate junior/senior or graduate student in regulatory affairs, biotechnology, life sciences, toxicology, or another applicable field

    Helpful background knowledge

    • Coursework or hands-on experience in biotechnology
    • Coursework or hands-on experience with cell-based manufacturing
    • Coursework or hands-on experience with regulatory framework or food legislation
    • Experience/familiarity with toxicology or preclinical studies
    • Basic proficiency in Mandarin would be advantageous but not required
