BIOMILQ is focused on developing technology that utilizes the unique potential of human mammary cells to produce functional human milk components outside of the body. We are R&D-stage, science-led, and diligently working to bring more of the benefits of breast milk to more babies.

We are looking for a Marketing Student Associate to join our team this summer in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina! This internship is expected to be around 12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates based on the student’s schedule.

About the Position

Responsibilities & Core Areas of Learning

• As a Marketing Student Associate, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute your skills towards various facets of the business and witness the real-time impact and implementation of your work.
• You will be responsible for content creation and monitoring of all social platforms.
• You will be responsible for creating social media performance reports.
• You will be responsible for media monitoring and tracking relevant news.
• You will be responsible for creating case studies, strategy proposals, and other marketing and communications projects as needed.
• You will get hands-on experience with start-up culture, becoming immersed in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment that welcomes creativity and out-of-the box thinking.

About You

Skills & Competencies

• You have strong interest in one or multiple of these topics: biotechnology, food technology, early life nutrition, maternal health, women’s health, nutrition science, or related topics.
• You have excellent organization and communication skills.
• You feel comfortable effectively communicating and visualizing complex topics for public audiences.
• You feel comfortable creating analytic-based reports on social media performance and proposing new strategies.
• As a life-long learner you keep a pulse on current relevant news and innovation within your field.
• You like to move fast but can maintain meticulous record-keeping.
• You're naturally inclined to think critically and creatively to work through problems.
• You enjoy working collaboratively with a broad and diverse team and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Undergraduate junior/senior or graduate student in advertising, marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, business, or another related field.

Helpful Background knowledge

• Coursework or hands-on experience in campaign creation, social media strategy, copywriting, design, or other related topics.
• Coursework or hands-on experience conducting market research.
• Experience/familiarity with graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other).
• Experience/familiarity with newsletter production (MailChimp, or other).
• Experience preparing social media audits, competitive analyses, and social media analytics reports.
