Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SharePoint Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our SharePoint platform, ensuring its optimal performance and functionality. As a SharePoint Administrator, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business processes, document management, and collaboration needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SharePoint Configuration and Customization:
  • Configure and customize SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to meet organizational requirements.
  • Implement and maintain security settings, permissions, and access controls.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance:
  • Monitor SharePoint server health, performance, and security.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • User Support and Training:
  • Provide user support for SharePoint-related inquiries and issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users on SharePoint best practices and functionality.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their requirements and translate them into SharePoint solutions.
  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate SharePoint with other enterprise systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of SharePoint configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate and analyze reports on SharePoint usage and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a SharePoint Administrator or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SharePoint architecture, design, and implementation.
  • Strong proficiency in SharePoint Online.
  • Experience with SharePoint Designer, PowerShell, and other relevant tools.
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, SQL Server, and IIS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • SharePoint certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with SharePoint migrations and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and integration with SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with third-party SharePoint tools and solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

You will be working in a small team environment where teamwork and good relationships with other team members is critical. We operate pilot plants and labs and many of our staff members are required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and you should be prepared to do so as well when necessary.
