Purpose Driven Position

Reporting to the Director Hardware & Product Development, the Manufacturing/QA Manager will oversee all technology product assembly for CarbonCure’s Ready Mix (RM) technology. This would include inventory management, managing internal and/or external manufacturing of technology systems, quality management and overseeing any design enhancements. The objective of this role is to ensure all systems are built to required standards and specifications, on time and with the required quality and documentation to ensure customer and CarbonCure success.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree in engineering, engineering technology or a related field, with a focus on electrical, instrumentation or industrial engineering preferred.
  • Hands-on electro-mechanical experience is essential
  • Substantial experience in technology installation, testing and refurbishment preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in managing electro-mechanical design including change management of identified design improvements
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with an interest in identifying and championing efficiency gains
  • Proven experience in mentoring and developing technical staff to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Ability to produce quality work within tight deadlines, and comfortable working in a highly variable environment
  • Detail oriented with a passion for getting the job done
  • Proficient with various software including zoom, slack, Smartsheets, Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, Google suite, Atlassian suite
  • Knowledge of concrete testing, cement, admixtures and CO2 would be an asset.

    What you'll be doing

    • Manage production of CarbonCure’s Ready Mix technology systems to meet customer installation timelines with required quality levels
    • Collaborate with project managers and support team members to understand customer requirements and assign resources accordingly
    • Manage contractors for any outsourced procurement or manufacturing, driving accountability and providing regular feedback on performance.
    • Oversee inventory management for technology systems, ensuring inventory levels remain at an acceptable level relative to installation forecasts and maintaining a high level of rigor with Finance on monthly counts
    • Manage development, implementation and monitoring of processes for inventory management, assembly, quality control, refurbishments and any other related process.
    • Manage system refurbishment processes to maximize value recovery from returned systems
    • Coordinate and schedule packing/shipping related activities and support Logistics Manager to ensure timely shipment of systems and components
    • Ensure data integrity is maintained within existing tools (Smartsheets, Salesforce)
    • Asset and machine maintenance & tracking to ensure minimal downtime of the manufacturing & deployment process
    • Upkeep & creation of technical drawings for electrical systems & hydraulic piping systems
    • Source & liaison with suppliers building & maintaining relationships as needed
    • Bill of Material Management for all variations of finished goods ensuring through tracking of the system fleet
    • Liaison with investors, guests, and other various stakeholders to effectively explain technologies & processes within the facility.
    • Update, maintain & resolve issues using PLC Ladder logic
    • Actively manage any enhancements to system design & functionality, ensuring appropriate change management processes are followed and progress is made
    • Lead and motivate a team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and professionalism.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and knowledge sharing among team members.
    • Provide any leadership updates or timely responses to requests, as required
    • Ensure a safe work environment within the assembly area

    Work Environment

    • This is a permanent, full-time position that will be based in CarbonCure’s headquarters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Travel is unlikely, but may occure on occasion.
    • A minimum of eight (8) hours Monday to Friday is required on-site.
