Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) has the fastest, lowest cost path to commercial fusion energy.
CFS collaborates with MIT to leverage decades of research combined with groundbreaking new high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet technology. HTS magnets will enable compact fusion power plants that can be constructed faster and at lower cost. Our mission is to deploy these power plants to meet global decarbonization goals as fast as possible. To that end, CFS has assembled a team of leaders in tough tech, fusion science, and manufacturing with a track record of rapid execution. Supported by the world’s leading investors, CFS is uniquely positioned to deliver limitless, clean, fusion power to combat climate change. To implement this plan, we are looking to add dedicated people to the team who treat people well, improve our work by adding multifaceted perspectives and new ways of solving problems, have achieved outstanding results through a range of pursuits, and have skills and experience related to this role.
CFS is looking for a Head of Talent Development to develop and run a multifaceted internal training program. We are looking for a creative builder and thinker who can lead the way and teach CFS what a great learning program can look like.
This team member will:
- Manage the development initiatives at CFS from start to finish including leadership and technical training programs
- Facilitate delivery of management and leadership trainings
- Consult with leaders within the organization to assess, trend, and analyze the learning needs of employees based on current and future strategic plans
- Implement a multi modal delivery approach that online learning, classroom training, and experiential learning
- Establish metrics to evaluate and continuously improve training effectiveness
- Seek out and work with external vendors when appropriate
- Develop and help roll out culture change initiatives
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:
- 10+ years of experience, bachelors degree
- Proven ability to develop and facilitate customized management and leadership training
- Proven ability to create and run technical and non-technical training programs
- Experience assessing and coaching management and leadership skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build relationships
- Ability to comfortably navigate uncertainty and develop creative solutions to issues
Additional experience and/or qualifications:
- Experience in other aspects of HR are a plus
- Ability to perform activities such as sitting, standing and typing for extending periods of time
- Willingness to travel occasionally when needed
