What you will do:

As a Senior Procurement Specialist on the Supply Chain Team, you will lead procurement and strategic sourcing activities supporting the organization’s corporate functions (HR, IT, Finance, Business & Marketing etc.). The role will support the development of category and sourcing strategies, in line with companywide growth objectives to ensure that the organization’s strategic goals are met by optimizing cost, efficiency, and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, best practices, and initiatives that support improvements in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, delivery, lead times, risk compliance, ESG, and other areas as identified
  • Develop and lead all RFx activities (RFI/RFQ/RFP) for critical components and services, including developing SOPs for selection criteria and driving the selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Manage contract negotiations, including terms, pricing, and delivery schedules, ensuring that contracts deliver value and protect the organization’s interests
  • Support development and execution of all Supplier Performance and Relationship Management activities within the team, taking ownership of SPM/SRM programs for your assigned categories
  • Support internal stakeholders by providing in-depth category and market insights and guidance, allowing for informed decision making in procurement activities
  • Analyze spend data and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk reduction
  • Develop negotiation and supplier performance improvement strategies, and proactively participate in problem resolution and supplier risk analysis
  • Assist in the design and creation of internal procurement SOPs and policies that ensure compliance with financial, legal, and ethical requirements
  • Collaborate with all internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and procurement activities
  • Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

What we need you to bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing or operations setting (excluding internships, co-ops and other school projects)
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to drive cost efficiencies
  • Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, exhibit a sense of urgency, and maintain equilibrium in a fast-moving, changing startup environment
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making
  • Applies advanced professional knowledge, business acumen, and company objectives to develop and resolve complex models and procedures
  • Provides creative and effective solutions to complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Directs the application of existing principles and guides the development of new policies and ideas
  • Understands interrelationships across disciplines and works effectively on complex, cross-functional issues
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments while exercising sound judgment in adapting techniques and evaluation criteria
  • Networks with key contacts outside area of expertise and leverages influence across the business
  • Adapts communication style and uses persuasion to deliver messages that relate to broader business objectives
  • Frequently advises others on complex matters and may lead a team accountable for achieving tactical business targets

What we want you to bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing or operations setting (excluding internships, co-ops and other school projects)
  • Broad expertise and knowledge in highly specialized fields or multiple related disciplines
  • Experience leading and contributing to the development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
  • Ability to work on significant and unique issues requiring evaluation of complex or intangible factors
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills to understand advanced issues and implications
  • Demonstrated independent judgment in determining methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Accountability for results with potential impact on the entire function
  • Previous start-up experience a plus

Compensation:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 a year and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
