Legal Internship

As a Legal Intern at Fervo Energy, you’ll be a hands-on contributor to a small, high-performing legal team at the forefront of the clean energy transition. You’ll partner directly with attorneys and cross-functional teams, gaining real-world experience with the legal and regulatory issues that shape geothermal development. This role offers a unique opportunity to dive into cutting-edge questions in energy law, support meaningful projects, and help accelerate the deployment of next-generation clean energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on regulatory regimes, environmental policy, and project finance structures.
- Draft, review, and organize contracts, memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Support compliance programs and help track evolving legal requirements.
- Contribute to improving internal processes, developing templates, and strengthening legal workflows.
- Collaborate with teams across the company to help address legal issues related to development, operations, and corporate initiatives.
Qualifications
- Currently a 1L student at an ABA-accredited law school
- 3.5 GPA or higher
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, environmental law, energy policy, or corporate law
- Strong research, writing, and communication abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Location
Fervo Energy is headquartered in Houston, TX. Other office locations include Oakland, Reno, Golden, and Salt Lake City. Regular in-office presence at the Houston office is required
