We need talented, hardworking individuals who share our goal of tackling the challenge of climate change. Do you want to work with us today to build a better tomorrow?
Role Description
We are seeking a Fluid Simulation Engineer to join the Systems team, which owns the development of the enclosure and accompanying subsystem design for Form Energy’s commercial product. In this role, you will focus on the simulation of thermal and airflow concepts with the ability to grow your knowledge in these areas as you interact with subject matter experts. You’ll help create, upgrade, and correlate simulations to quickly test, validate and iterate on designs. The responsibilities include simulating concepts through collaboration with other disciplines and presenting the results to help guide and improve the design. This is a unique opportunity to develop a broad range of skills while doing your part to fight climate change!

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development of simulation tools and contribute to the concepts used for prediction and performance development by running simulations, upgrading and updating features, and correlating to test data
  • Create and automate data analysis from aero/thermal simulations to enable data-based decision making
  • Support subsystem concepts by generating new data, troubleshooting and resolving divergences and geometry inputs, and maintaining fluid designs
  • Lead efforts to track performance using analysis tools

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of fluid simulation (3D-CFD) experience
  • Proficiency in Star-CCM+ and/or GT-Suite/1D modeling software
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and/or MATLAB
  • Strong communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization including remote team members
  • Enjoys a fast paced work environment
  • Battery experience is a plus
