We are looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to further develop and manage the daily functions of the Form Energy Environmental program at our Eighty Four, PA and Weirton, WV facilities as well as supporting our CA/MA locations as needed. You will be responsible for working with our WV/PA EHS Site Lead, across both sites, to ensure our team is operating with best environmental practices. A self-starter, you will proactively mitigate new hazards and roll up your sleeves to quickly respond to critical situations in the most effective and efficient manner. Taking a collaborative approach, you’ll work closely with all teams to provide a great place to work. This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's locations in the Greater Pittsburgh region. Relocation assistance is available.
What You'll Do:
Provide oversight and direction for day-to-day compliance/ management with applicable air, wastewater, water and storm water permits, plans, regulations
Interpret environmental laws and permit requirements, stay abreast of the changing regulatory landscape and analyze the various options for complying with new regulations and permit requirements
Coordinate the reporting and record keeping activities for facility’s permits and other environmental regulatory reporting requirements and corporate sustainability data tracking requirements
Maintain detailed records and prepare related reports and studies for submission to regulatory agencies
Develop and implement environmental compliance programs to ensure environment regulatory obligations are fulfilled in a cost-effective manner and that environmental risks are effectively managed
Build strong working relationships in order to support the adherence to environmental initiatives
Oversee the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to mitigate environmental hazards across various environmental media, including but not limited to, air emissions, water pollution control, hazardous materials management.
Perform technical analysis of process data as related to air and water emissions
Apply for original permits and maintains a schedule for renewals, reporting, and provisions of all required environmentally related permits
Develop, implement, and coordinate emergency response to release
events as necessary
Develop and delivers environmental compliance-related training sessions
Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring:
10+ years experience in Environmental roles supporting pilot manufacturing R&D, Manufacturing or Engineering functions. 5+ years direct experience with Title V air emissions.
Bachelors of Science in related field; Environmental, Engineering, etc
Expert working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations with regard to Air Quality, Wastewater, Storm Water, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management
Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite and Google docs
Data analysis and problem-solving skills that uncover contributors to environmental compliance-related incidents and development of solutions to address those risks
Direct experience with navigating regulatory requirements as they relate to Large Quantity Generator status, satellite and 90-day accumulation areas, and disposal of wastes
The following certifications are preferred: HAZWOPER certification, RCRA/Title 22 training, DOT/IATA, CHMM
Advanced degree in Environmental or Engineering preferred
