Front End Engineer / Full Stack
Software Engineering · Full-time
Pittsburgh, PA, USA
The Company
Our client builds software that helps clean energy projects connect to the electric grid faster and more reliably. Their platform is used by utilities, grid operators and renewable developers across the country. The team operates as a focused product group inside a larger, established energy software company, so you get startup-scale ownership with real stability behind it.
The Role
This is a new position, created because the company’s computational engine has grown to the point where it can support much richer customer-facing features. You’ll be the frontend-leaning engineer who makes those features clear and usable for people making high-stakes decisions about energy projects.
The work is about 80% frontend and 20% backend, with backend work in service of the UI. You’ll work across two live products and a third launching next year. The engineering team is roughly 25 people, mostly backend and computational engineers, with a small frontend group, so you’ll have a strong voice in how the product looks and works.

About You
- 3+ years building production frontends with a modern framework; 5 to 7 years is the sweet spot
- Strong design sense: you care how an interface looks and works, and you’re comfortable making good calls without a designer in the room
- React and TypeScript ideally; Python on the backend a plus
- Comfortable with relational databases, containers and cloud deployment, or ready to learn
- Genuine interest in clean energy and the grid
- In Pittsburgh, or ready to relocate - REQUIRED
