Job Description

At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers driven by electric motors with battery derived energy. The ES-30 is expected to enter into service in 2028.

Your mission

The Regulation & Product Development Manager has broad responsibility for the definition of the strategy for certification of Heart Aerospace products. You will report to the Head of Engineering, and occasionally interface with the Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs), the Engineering Heads and department specialists, as well as other company functions such as Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Customer Support, among others.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Represent the Head of Engineering at program/technical reviews as well as customer/supplier meetings.
  • Ensure schedule adherence to the Heart Aerospace Master Phase Plans (MPPs) and play an active part in design reviews to meet certification, cost, and schedule goals.
  • Provide broad technical leadership of the certification aspects in conjunction with the Head of Engineering and the various specialists.
  • Providing technical leadership of certification subjects and support for day-to-day operations.

Your place of work will be at our main office located in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Skills & Requirements

  • A team leader with a compliance mindset, strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum 10 years engineering and certification (combined) experience in an aerospace OEM company environment or in an aerospace regulatory authority.
  • Experience with aircraft development programs throughout the entire, development & certification lifecycle (EASA/FAA CS/Part 23 or 25).
  • Experience in Conceptual Design Phase during Product development.
  • Certification base evolution monitoring and impact analysis on the developed product.
  • Direct interface experience with FAA / EASA / ANAC / TCCA.
  • Experience working in an EASA/FAA Part 21J Design Organization, or international equivalent.
  • Direct experience with certification programme planning & execution, including setting & negotiating certification basis, developing & executing certification programme, working with regulatory authority/authorities to obtain type certification.
  • Working knowledge of systems & safety engineering principles for safety critical systems (SAE ARP 4754/4761).
  • Proven strong ability for collaboration and teamwork.
  • A solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in an aerospace start-up environment is a merit.
  • Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry.

Education

  • B.Sc. in aerospace, aeronautical disciplines, or equivalent experience.
