We are pushing past the limits of classical physics and current supercomputing technology to unlock a new era of computing. Quantum computing has the potential to impact every area of human society for the better. IonQ’s computers will soon redefine industries like medicine, materials science, finance, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cryptography, and more. IonQ is at the forefront of this technological revolution.

We are looking for a Senior Materials Planner. As a Senior Materials Planner, you’ll be part of a cross-functional team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our production, managing material requirements to meet the demands of our innovative engineering designs and New Product Introduction (NPI) schedules. Your responsibilities will include obtaining and negotiating vendor quotes, generating purchase requisitions, and collaborating with vendors and internal suppliers to secure timely material deliveries. You'll also manage production work orders and provide critical material readiness reports. This role demands close collaboration with cross-functional teams, meticulous forecast analysis, and the maintenance of precise production schedules. If you excel in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and possess a robust background in supply chain management, particularly within engineering and NPI contexts, this is your opportunity to contribute to the future of quantum computing. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Bothell, WA facility with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute system-level planning within a dynamic manufacturing environment, driven by Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), to support engineering and NPI project timelines.
  • Achieve 95% or greater on-time delivery to MRP at the top-level assembly level, ensuring critical components are available for engineering builds and NPI milestones.
  • Generate and maintain detailed daily/weekly build schedules, communicating effectively across engineering and production teams.
  • Act as primary interface to planning for TPM(s) for NPI and production builds
  • Provide timely reports and report outs on material shortages, availability, and build progress, proactively addressing issues to keep engineering projects and NPI on track.
  • Troubleshoot material discrepancies that could impede engineering builds or NPI schedules.
  • Proactively identify material constraints, develop strategic solutions, and lead collaborative efforts to resolve issues in support of engineering and NPI.

You’d be a good fit with:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or other related field
  • 5+ years of experience of materials planning in a manufacturing environment with multi-level Bills of Material (BOMs)
  • Strong understanding of MRP in a manufacturing environment (i.e., planning, purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing operations)
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Ability to lead cross-functional efforts and collaborate with other teams to achieve results
  • Mindset of continuous improvement, strong drive for results, sense of urgency, and a strong bias for action
  • Strong analytical and data management skills (strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and highly ambiguous environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and externally

You’d be a great fit with:
