We are seeking a Staff Procurement Partner – Indirect to lead sourcing and procurement initiatives for IonQ’s indirect categories, with an emphasis on software, services, consulting, and other operational purchases. This role is a key contributor to IonQ’s continued growth and innovation, ensuring that strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships support the company’s dynamic and rapidly evolving needs.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team that works closely with stakeholders in IT, legal, finance, and operations to structure deals, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships across a variety of non-production categories.


Responsibilities:

  • Own and lead the end-to-end sourcing and procurement process for indirect categories, including software, SaaS, consulting, professional services, facilities services, and other operational needs, from requirements gathering and sourcing strategy through contract execution and supplier management.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, develop sourcing strategies, and deliver best-in-class supplier solutions.
  • Negotiate and structure supplier agreements that balance cost, delivery, performance, and risk
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to support contract development, renewals, and compliance with internal policies
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure service levels are met through continuous tracking and supplier reviews
  • Support ongoing improvements in procurement processes and tools to drive scalability and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for sourcing events, purchase orders, and contract terms
  • Assist in budget planning and forecasting for indirect categories in partnership with finance and department leads
  • Stay up to date with market trends and category innovations to inform strategic sourcing decisions


You’d be a good fit with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a focus on indirect categories (software, SaaS, services, etc.)
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience using procurement or ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite, ZipHQ, Coupa, Ariba, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in high-tech or fast-scaling environments


You’d be a great fit with:

  • Familiarity with SaaS license models, software renewals, and IP/contractual risk mitigation
  • Knowledge of supplier onboarding, risk management, and performance tracking best practices
  • Professional procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP)

The approximate base salary range for this position is $112,776 - $147,063. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.

Compensation will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Beyond base salary, total compensation includes a variable bonus and equity component and a range of benefit options found on our career site at ionq.co/jobs. IonQ's HQ is located in College Park, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC. We are actively building out our recently opened manufacturing and production facility in Bothell, WA (near Seattle). Depending on the position, you may be required to be near one of our offices in College Park, Seattle, Toronto, Canada, and Basel, Switzerland.
