About The Role:
We are seeking a HR Officer – Talent Acquisition to support the identification, engagement, and hiring of technical, statutory, and support staff for the Mingomba underground development. This role requires curiosity about the business, creativity in sourcing, and the ability to work closely with HR colleagues, hiring managers, and project leaders. The Recruiter will contribute to filling urgent project requirements while helping to build strong pipelines for long-term workforce needs, ensuring all recruitment activities are carried out in line with Zambian labour laws, MSD regulations, and host community commitments.
Responsibilities
Talent Sourcing and Engagement
- Source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, referrals, universities, and host community channels.
- Support the development of sourcing strategies to attract niche technical and statutory talent.
- Translate job specifications into targeted sourcing campaigns that bring in qualified candidates.
- Share KoBold’s value proposition clearly with candidates to generate strong interest.
Recruitment Process and Candidate Experience:
- Manage day-to-day recruitment tasks including job postings, shortlisting, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Ensure candidates have a professional and engaging experience throughout the hiring process.
- Work with hiring managers and senior recruiters to prioritise multiple recruitment campaigns.
- Support coordination of interview loops and documentation of decisions.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Support compliance with the Employment Code Act of Zambia, MSD statutory appointment rules, and host community obligations.
- Maintain up-to-date recruitment trackers and ensure candidate data is recorded accurately.
- Assist with recruitment reporting by providing accurate data to HR leadership and project managers.
- Collaborate with the global team to adhere to and continuously evolve KoBold’s global recruitment processes and reporting standards.
Team and Stakeholder Support:
- Learn about technical functions and statutory roles to better understand recruitment requirements.
- Partner with HR colleagues to share market insights and recruitment progress.
- Liaise with candidates, contractors, and community representatives in a professional and timely manner.
- Contribute ideas to improve recruiting processes and support broader HR initiatives.
Best Fit:
- Experience recruiting for technical or statutory roles in mining, construction, or heavy industry.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to handle multiple roles at once.
- Excellent communicator, able to interact confidently with candidates and colleagues.
- Curious and eager to learn about the mining industry and KoBold’s unique talent needs.
- Proactive and resourceful in sourcing candidates, with an eye for detail in processes and documentation.
- High integrity and professionalism in handling candidate information.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of recruitment experience, preferably in mining, oil and gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and recruitment reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Zambian labour laws and MSD requirements is an advantage.
- Membership with ZIHRM.
