Wellfield Technician (Landfill Gas)

Role:
The Landfill Gas Technician will operate, monitor, and maintain landfill gas collection and control systems (GCCS) at M2X project sites. This position will support safe and reliable landfill gas extraction and delivery by performing routine system inspections, completing field maintenance, and assisting with non-routine construction and repair activities. A strong candidate will have hands-on mechanical skills, enjoy outdoor field work in varying conditions, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a small crew.
Specific responsibilities may include:

Operate and monitor landfill gas extraction wells on the landfill’s GCCS.

Perform flare and blower station operations and monitoring.

Conduct GCCS condensate management activities.

Perform landfill GCCS operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Perform pneumatic pump maintenance, including removal of pumps, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair.

Operate site vehicles and equipment, including pickup trucks and smaller field equipment.

Perform non-routine construction repairs or maintenance, including HDPE pipe fusion.

Maintain organized records of inspections, maintenance activities, and operational data.

Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Communicate clearly with site personnel and other technicians regarding system status, issues, and required follow-up.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver’s license and reliable method of transportation to work

Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain

Ability to work in all weather conditions in outdoor/industrial environments

Self-starter with the ability to work independently

Ability to work well with other technicians on a small crew or team

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in landfill gas operations and maintenance (O&M) or environmental field work

2 years' experience in mechanical work, construction, or landscaping
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
-
20–26 dollars per hour (based on experience).
Job Type: Full-time, On-site.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (schedule may vary based on site needs).
Work Location: Effingham, IL
Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.
