As we expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our team in the pivotal role of Procurement & Logistics Specialist. This position provides a unique opportunity for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and excels in both procurement and logistics management, with a focus on utilizing advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Job Overview: As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in optimizing the flow of goods within our organization, seamlessly integrating procurement and logistics activities.

Responsibilities:

Procurement:

  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Place purchase orders with precision and efficiency through the ERP system.
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance, addressing issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand and fulfill procurement needs.

Logistics:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing shipments including physical inspection and receiving of goods.
  • Inspect received goods for quality and accuracy, updating the ERP system accordingly.
  • Prepare, pack, and label products for shipment.
  • Coordinate with carriers to optimize delivery and pickup schedules.
  • Previous TDG experience an asset
  • Experience with powered material handling equipment or forklift/reach truck an asset

Inventory Management:

  • Utilize the ERP system for real-time and accurate inventory tracking.
  • Conduct regular stock checks using the ERP system and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Implement and optimize warehouse organization practices.

Documentation:

  • Generate and maintain comprehensive shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Leverage ERP reports to analyze and present shipping and inventory activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of procurement transactions through the ERP system.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effectively communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders using ERP tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to proactively address supply chain issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement and logistics roles.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and inventory management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping regulations and customs procedures. Transport of Dangerous Goods an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or coursework is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in Engineering, Construction or Fabrication environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using ERP systems for procurement and logistics functions.
