Position

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer or Chemist (Brine Treatment & Separation Processes) to join our dynamic Technology Development team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in chemical processing, especially in lithium brine pretreatment, crystallization, leaching, and separation technologies. In this critical role, you will support the design, scale-up, optimization, and operation of advanced chemical processing systems with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. Salary range for this position will be $80 - $100k depending on experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Test and select ion exchange resins for specific applications based on performance data.
• Design and execute lab-scale and pilot-scale experiments for lithium brine purification.
• Prepare test solutions, reagents, and compounds, coordinate and guide test procedures.
• Analyze chemical and physical properties of lithium brines and associated compounds.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to develop and interpret testing protocols.
• Write technical reports and documentation; develop specifications for products and processes.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate laboratory equipment; manage supply procurement.
• Ensure full compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Required Education, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Chemistry, Mineral Processing, or related field. Higher degrees or certifications are considered a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial or lab experience in chemical or mineral processing, with a strong focus on lithium brine treatment and separation techniques.
• Deep understanding of chemical processes, hydrometallurgy, flotation, and related separation methods.
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, statistical design of experiments (DOE), and process optimization.
• Hands-on experience with R&D workflows, pilot plant operations, and new product development.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and collaborative mindset.
• Proactive, self-driven, and capable of taking initiative in process improvement.

• Advanced knowledge of lithium extraction and sustainable processing technologies.
• High integrity, adaptability, and ability to work well under pressure.
