Pilot Plant Lead Engineer
Mangrove Lithium
Who are we?
Mangrove Lithium, a Vancouver based company, has developed a breakthrough platform for the most cost-effective production of battery grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate from diverse input streams and assets. Mangrove’s modular solution can be scaled to any capacity and co-located with upstream lithium producers or cathode and cell manufacturers. The platform technology is being commercialized for the conversion of waste brines to chemicals and desalinated water. The company recently attracted funding through Breakthrough Energy, BMW i Ventures, and BDC Capital and is working towards the deployment of
a first-of-a-kind commercial plant.
Position
Mangrove is seeking an exceptional Pilot Plant Lead Engineer to play a key role in the development and commercialization of proprietary electrochemical technology. This position reports to the Director of Technology Development.
The Pilot Plant Lead Engineer will provide technical leadership for the operation and experimentation of integrated pilot-scale systems, supporting process development and optimization, scale-up, and customer qualification activities. This role includes planning and executing pilot campaigns, leading pilot plant upgrades, overseeing long-duration test runs, and ensuring the generation of high-quality, reliable experimental data.
The successful candidate will be highly proficient in operating and troubleshooting pilot-scale equipment, maintaining rigorous experimental records, and translating experimental results into clear, actionable technical recommendations for cross-functional stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic technology development team and to play a meaningful role in advancing a first-of-a-kind electrochemical platform toward commercialization in the rapidly growing lithium-ion battery sector.
Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
