Mantle8 is developing innovative technologies to explore and understand natural hydrogen systems, an emerging frontier in the energy transition. By combining geosciences, data science and advanced modelling, we aim to unlock new subsurface hydrogen resources and contribute to the future of clean energy.

To support the development of our exploration portfolio, we are looking for an Exploration or Reservoir Geologist who will contribute to identifying, evaluating and maturing new natural hydrogen prospects.

In this role, you will contribute to play-based exploration workflows, subsurface interpretation and prospect generation, integrating multidisciplinary geoscience datasets to support exploration strategy and portfolio development. You will work closely with Mantle8’s team of geoscientists, data specialists and engineers to strengthen exploration methodologies and advance our understanding of natural hydrogen systems.

The position also includes participation in R&D initiatives aimed at improving exploration workflows, including the integration of large geoscience datasets and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and application of play-based exploration approaches for natural hydrogen systems
• Identify, evaluate and mature new exploration leads and prospects
• Integrate geological, geophysical and geochemical datasets to support exploration decisions
• Contribute to reservoir characterization and subsurface interpretation where relevant
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative exploration workflows
• Participate in scientific exchanges with academic and industry partners and represent Mantle8 when relevant

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• MSc or PhD in Geosciences, Geology, Reservoir Geology, or related disciplines
• Experience in exploration geology, reservoir geology, or subsurface data integration
• Background in O&G, mining, geothermal or natural hydrogen exploration is a strong advantage
• Interest in data-driven exploration approaches (large datasets, AI/ML or HPC)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent English (French is a plus)
