Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized revenue accountant to manage Mill's order to cash process. In this role, you'll be responsible for calculating monthly revenue, facilitating the financials statement audits, revising any technical accounting documentation when needed for new business arrangements, reviewing contracts and advising on revenue structures. Monthly accounting requires calculations, journal entries, reconciliations, and reviews, as well as ad hoc analyses upon request. Additionally, you'll collaborate with the Product and Business teams to help support our Go To Market strategy. This role offers the strategic ability to use in-depth understanding of retail revenue recognition to drive the business towards significant growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the Ins & Outs of our revenue process for all lines of business.
- Complete operational accounting and reporting, including detailed calculation, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of general ledger accounts.
- Collaborate with Data team to extract relevant information to perform revenue calculations. Collaborate with the Controller and external accounting to bring operations in-house.
- Manage sales tax reporting, payment, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly margin analyses for reporting.
- Enhancement or creation of internal controls around revenue recognition, credit and collections.
- Partners cross-functionally with Finance, Data, IT, Legal, and Business Development department leads
- Assist with financial statement audits and ERP implementation.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance or accounting, or related majors including business
- CPA preferred
- 4+ years of accounting experience
- High level of attention to detail and experience in financial accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience working in a high-growth, dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Data-driven problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and drive quality and process improvements
The estimated base salary range for this position is $110k to $152k, which does not include the any benefits or equity. Various factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs.
