The Quality Manager - Co-Manufacturing will be responsible for managing Co-manufacturing food safety and quality for Nature's Fynd production of finished goods in N. America. The manager will lead the quality review, quality program development, and auditing of co-manufacturers. The successful candidate will be an engaged thought leader to drive food safety and quality, working closely with internal and external partners. The candidate should possess deep knowledge of food safety, food process principles, and HACCP/FSP.
This position reports to the Quality Director. This is a full-time position and requires travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all aspects of Food Safety and Quality at external manufacturing sites are met
  • Lead Food Safety and Quality evaluations at existing and new external manufacturing sites
  • Investigate and work cross-functionally on root cause analysis, complete CAPAs, and effectively implement preventative and corrective actions with our co-manufacturing partners
  • Lead existing internal quality testing programs for ingredients and finished product to ensure compliance to food safety and quality requirements
  • Review finished product documentation and testing for finished product release
  • Review customer complaints, lead in investigating and completing CAPAs
  • Verify that all products adhere to food quality and safety standards by tracking products through the manufacturing processes
  • Support the innovation pipeline for new products including finished product trials and be the subject matter expert on food safety and quality requirements while working cross-functionally with internal and external teams

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of GMPs, Food Safety, FSMA and knowledge of FDA food regulations
  • High personal drive and capable of pulling together teams to investigate non-conformances and lead implementation at external partners implement corrective actions
  • Self motivated with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally with internal and external partners
  • Travel up to 50% of the time depending on the employee and co-manufacturing location(s)

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in life-sciences including Chemistry, Biology, or related technical field
  • 8+ years of food safety and quality experience in a leadership role
  • Must have experience with co-manufacturers with a proven track record of success in building programs, policies, and driving improvements at common facilities
  • PCQI/HACCP Certified
  • Proven track record for successfully managing relationships with manufacturers partners to develop, review, and verify quality programs
  • Comfortable in a startup environment, embrace entrepreneurship and have continue to drive improvements
  • Experience working in a regulated food manufacturing facility
