The IT Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and support functions across multiple facilities, including corporate office and manufacturing plant environments. This role oversees a broad technology portfolio — including cloud and SaaS platforms, endpoint and hardware management, virtualization, identity and access management, network infrastructure, and security operations — and ensures technology is reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs in both office and operational technology (OT) environments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Operations & Strategy
- Collaborate with IT management and business stakeholders to support technology initiatives aligned with organizational goals
- Establish and monitor KPIs for system uptime, support response times, security posture, and overall IT performance
- Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain accurate IT documentation including network diagrams, system configurations, and runbooks
- Implement proactive monitoring practices to identify and address infrastructure issues before they impact operations
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including documentation and periodic testing
- Contribute to IT roadmap planning and assist with evaluating new technologies for efficiency and reliability improvements
Systems & Cloud Administration
- Deploy, administer, and optimize cloud and SaaS platforms, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Implement and manage Identity Provider (IdP) and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations across business systems
- Administer and maintain video conferencing and collaboration room systems (e.g., Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
- Develop and maintain automation workflows, scripts, and system integrations to streamline IT processes such as user onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, reporting, and business system connectivity (e.g., PowerShell, Power Automate)
Endpoint & Hardware Management
- Manage and maintain end-user devices across platforms (Windows, macOS, Android, iOS) using Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions such as Microsoft Intune and Mosyle
- Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of on-site servers, workstations, peripheral hardware, and related infrastructure
- Administer and maintain Nutanix virtualization environments, including VM provisioning, resource management, and platform health
- Manage and support a mixed server environment including Windows Server and Linux-based systems
- Coordinate hardware procurement, asset tracking, inventory management, and preventive maintenance schedules
- Manage physical security and environmental controls for on-site server and infrastructure rooms
Network Infrastructure & Security
- Manage and maintain on-site network hardware, including Cisco, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti equipment
- Administer and maintain network configurations including firewall rules, threat prevention policies, VLANs, VPNs, and access control policies; conduct regular firewall policy reviews to maintain a strong network security posture
- Monitor network performance and implement proactive measures to reduce incidents and ensure reliability
- Design and support scalable network infrastructure to accommodate organizational growth
Security & Compliance
- Manage the organization's IT security operations, including endpoint detection and response, threat monitoring, and incident handling, leveraging platforms such as CrowdStrike and Microsoft Defender
- Design and execute security awareness initiatives including email phishing simulations
- Implement and maintain physical and logical security controls to protect IT infrastructure
- Establish and maintain an IT security governance framework, including policies, risk assessments, compliance protocols, and adherence to applicable data security, privacy, and industry regulations
- Manage the deployment, access controls, and security posture of AI tools and platforms in use across the organization, ensuring usage aligns with company policy, data privacy requirements, and acceptable use standards
Support & Operations
- Provide hands-on IT support for internal help desk requests, serving as the primary point of escalation for complex issues
- Oversee deployment, ongoing maintenance, and update management for end-user systems including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers, ensuring all systems remain current and secure
- Collaborate with communications and business teams to coordinate messaging around IT system changes, outages, and updates
- Train end users on systems, applications, and IT best practices
Budget & Vendor Management
- Manage hardware and software vendor relationships, contracts, and renewals, including procurement sourcing and service agreements
- Maintain software inventory and license compliance
- Assist with IT budget development and management for both OPEX and CAPEX, including hardware, software, and services
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional with deep expertise across IT disciplines, strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, and a commitment to delivering scalable and secure IT services in a mixed corporate and manufacturing environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 administration or integration
- Familiarity with Power Automate or similar workflow automation platforms
- Experience designing and executing security awareness programs, including phishing simulations
- Experience managing IT systems, policies, and controls in support of ITAR and/or CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) compliance requirements
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar security governance frameworks and certification processes
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including familiarity with OT (Operational Technology) network management and IT/OT segmentation
- Hands-on experience with Nutanix virtualization platforms
- Experience administering and maintaining Linux-based server systems
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, ITIL, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Ubiquiti network hardware and firewall administration
- Experience with video conferencing room system administration (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
- Prior experience supporting or mentoring IT interns or junior staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role, or demonstrated experience leading IT projects and initiatives
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID/Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
- Experience managing endpoint devices across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android) with MDM solutions
- Working knowledge of hardware infrastructure including servers, networking equipment, workstations, and peripherals
- Demonstrated experience with IT security operations, including endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools
- Strong understanding of identity and access management, including SSO and IdP integrations
- Experience developing scripts or automation to support IT operations (PowerShell or similar)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and vendor management skills
