Description:

QuantumScape is seeking a highly-motivated researcher to further improve the performance of our novel solid-state battery materials. You will learn how the technology works, develop new techniques for device fabrication and characterization, and work with the broader team to improve our materials and processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in our state-of-the-art lab, developing and optimizing new processes for cell assembly
  • Characterize physical and electrochemical properties of battery materials and devices using state-of-the-art analytical methods
  • Collaborate with colleagues from multiple fields to ensure that process specifications and device performance goals are met
  • Deliver high-quality technical reports to colleagues

Skills & Knowledge:

  • You have a sound understanding of materials science fundamentals
  • You are self-motivated and have a track record of learning new skills and techniques, and applying those to achieve results
  • You are comfortable working in a glovebox, dry room, or fume hood
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt quickly to changes
  • You are a strong communicator and enjoy working on a team to solve complex challenges
  • You share our passion for our mission

Minimum Requirements:

MS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field with 1+ years of experience or BS with 3+ years experience in a research and development role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lamination techniques and interface analysis
  • Experience with deposition methods
  • Hands-on research experience in device assembly from a relevant industry
  • Familiarity with electrochemistry or energy storage-related technologies

This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $107,200 to $163,500 and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
