Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Manufacturing Process Technician Role

Under moderate supervision, a Process Technician will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to; assessing, implementing and documenting new process procedures that are both sustainable and scalable, liaising between cross functional teams to gather critical data needed to drive actions for process development, manage and own process documentation for new battery module teardown and sorting procedures, maintain ownership of teardown and sorting areas including 5S standards and enforcement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work a flexible Monday-Friday work schedule
  • Ability to autonomously solve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skilled in meticulous data collection and observation recording.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to identify new process methods with consideration to equipment needed and mitigation of safety risks while doing so.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of math and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment
  • Proven track record of safety-consciousness and capable of learning applicable EHS standards and proper chemical handling techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Capacity to work independently and safely with minimal supervision
  • Process documentation, publishing and training.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical (STEM) field.
  • Experience with remanufacturing of battery systems.
  • Experience in assembly of electromechanical testing systems.
  • Ability to assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment
