Chemical Engineering Technician

As a Chemical Engineering Technician at Redwood Materials, you will have the opportunity to make the world a better place by assist to a wide variety of analytical /metallurgical processes across the Company.

Under moderate supervision, a Chemical Engineering Technician will perform a variety of tasks, to include monitoring, controlling, and optimizing chemical and metallurgical processes and unit operations in the laboratory and in pilot/production environments. This role will aid engineers in starting-up and testing new processes and equipment and performing experiments.

Responsibilities will Include:

  • Desire to be hands-on monitoring and optimizing processes and equipment at the lab-, pilot-, and production-scale.
  • Strong ability to follow technical instructions & standard operating procedures.
  • Skilled in meticulous data collection and observation recording.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proven track record of safety-consciousness and capable of learning applicable EHS standards and proper chemical handling techniques.
  • Capacity to work independently and safely with minimal supervision.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

Desired Qualifications:

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in a related field.
  • Experience with laboratory sample preparation and analysis.
  • Familiarity of OSHA/MSHA rules and regulations and chemical hazards and industrial safety programs.
  • Ability to assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain relevant chemical processing equipment.
  • Proficient using MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets and Word documentation.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
