Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Network Engineer

The Network Engineer role will be responsible for deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, administration, and support of Redwood Material’s corporate and manufacturing internal network infrastructures. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining performance, availability, and integrity of network connectivity for operations across the company. Implementing best practices in security at the edge and internally while enabling the business to scale rapidly will also be core to this role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in design, implementation and administration of routing, switching, LAN & WAN architectures, Wi-Fi, and firewall policies.
  • Support Corporate and Manufacturing / OT operations.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to implement solutions for business needs.
  • Maintain detailed design documents, system architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures.
  • Work hand in hand with IT & OT teams to implement interface systems such as DMZ’s, firewalls, VPNs, and Layer 3 switches.
  • Provide break/fix support for network related issues.
  • Participation in an on-call support rotation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting industrial environments.
  • Strong experience in management of routing, switching and tunneling protocols, scalable & redundant infrastructure, and maintaining up-time.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks, Juniper Networks, Cisco, Aruba, or similar hardware.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
