Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Manufacturing Process Technician

Under moderate supervision, a Process Technician will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to; assessing, implementing, and documenting new process procedures that are both sustainable and scalable, liaising between cross-functional teams to gather critical data needed to drive actions for process development, manage and own process documentation for new battery module teardown and sorting procedures, maintain ownership of teardown and sorting areas including 5S standards and enforcement.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ability to autonomously solve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to identify new process methods with consideration to equipment needed and mitigation of safety risks while doing so.
  • Applying knowledge of math and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment.
  • Safety consciousness and capable of learning applicable EHS standards and proper chemical handling techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Working independently and safely with minimal supervision.
  • Implication of process documentation, publishing, and training.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical (STEM) field.
  • Experience with remanufacturing of battery systems.
  • Experience in assembly of electromechanical testing systems.
  • Ability to assemble, fabricate, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment.
  • Skilled in meticulous data collection and observation recording.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of hand and power tools
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place!

Current Shift:

Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30 pm

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
