Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Fleet Dispatcher

The Redwood Materials Logistics team is seeking a motivated individual to join our company as a Dispatcher. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will be responsible for coordinating the dispatch of the internal trucking fleet, optimizing routes, and ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the trucking industry, demonstrated leadership experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Receive and prioritize shipping requests, dispatching drivers and equipment to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Plan and optimize trucking routes to maximize efficiency and meet delivery requirements, adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for CDL drivers, providing instructions, updates, and addressing issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including pickups, deliveries, and driver logs as needed; generate reports to track the performance and identify areas of improvement
  • Utilize fleet management software, GPS systems, and other relevant technology to improve operations.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to provide status updates on shipments and other coordinating instructions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and strong communication, customer service, and organization skills.
  • Certification or expertise in Department of Transportation 49 CFR Dangerous Goods Transportation.
  • Familiarity with enterprise fleet management software (Oracle).
  • Proficiency in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (DOT) compliance, including International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), vehicle inspection reporting, permitting, and DOT inspection compliance.
  • Willing to travel between Redwood locations as needed.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
