Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Redwood Materials is looking for a Document Control Systems Specialist to join the Quality Systems team in order to develop and maintain document control systems across the organization. This position will involve implementation and improvements to systems used to generate, approve, and manage documentation. This role will work collaboratively with technical experts, engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams to define and implement processes and standard practices for Redwood document management systems. This role will work directly with Document Control Administrators and document users to take process improvements and turn them into system features.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Define the requirements and scope of the document management processes and systems.
  • Manage and own the implementation of enterprise-level document management software.
  • Configure and maintain system workflows and system metadata.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop system requirements and feature requests.
  • Support the document system integration with critical quality systems including but not limited to systems that support laboratories, manufacturing, audits and maintenance (LIMS, MES, CAPA, CMMS, WMS).
  • Prioritize multiple projects across all departments and systems.
  • Create, update, and maintain document system configurations across the organization. Systems include but are not limited to: JIRA, SharePoint, engineering document systems, network folders etc.
  • Manage multiple document system processes, including but not limited to: engineering documents and drawings, operational & quality documents, customer documents and contracts, legal documents and corporate policies, etc.
  • Identify improvement opportunities across teams and develop solutions to close the gap.
  • Manage and maintain system settings, features, and configurations to support business needs.
  • Manage and maintain system documentation and user guides.
  • Quickly learn, support and understand the interactions between systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, IT, system administration or other relevant field (equivalent experience considered in leu of degree).
  • Experience in document control or system administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Preferred: Experience with Jira or similar tools.
  • Preferred: Previous experience with ISO9001, IATF16949 or other certifications.
  • Preferred: Experience with SharePoint and other Microsoft tools.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment without predefined standards.
  • Ability to execute with a calm and collaborative urgency.
