Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. Director of Project Finance

We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Project Finance to join our dynamic treasury team. The Director will play a pivotal role in sourcing, structuring, negotiating, securing, and managing investment projects, debt and equity financing, and market investment analysis for Redwood Materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project finance, experience with a variety of debt and equity instruments and a proven track record of successfully working through complex transactions.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the structuring and negotiation of project finance transactions, including debt financing and other financial instruments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including corporate development, legal, and finance teams to develop innovative financing structures that optimize project economics and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with project development teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and documentation required for financing.
  • Develop in collaboration with our FP&A team and maintain financial models and projections to support project financing activities, including cash flow forecasts, sensitivity analyses, and investment return metrics.
  • Prepare financial reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders, providing comprehensive analysis and insights into project performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards related to project finance.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of each project during construction and after completion.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in project finance, working with complex financing arrangements.
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics or related; Masters preferred.
  • Proven experience sourcing, structuring, negotiating, securing, and managing investment projects.
  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards relevant to project finance.
