Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.

Quality Systems Engineer

Redwood Materials is looking for a Quality Systems Engineer to develop and implement quality systems across the organization. This position will involve business process design, implementation, and improvements to the Quality Management System. This role will work collaboratively with technical experts, engineers, managers, and cross-functional teams to define and implement processes, standard practices, and systems.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop process standards, system requirements, and execution plans for business processes.
  • Define software/system requirements based on business process needs.
  • Support the development, deployment, and improvement of critical quality system elements.
  • Work closely with technical writing to develop procedures, standards, and training content.
  • Develop deployment plan for systems, documentation and training.
  • Lead and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Prioritize multiple projects across all departments and systems to provide status updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify improvement opportunities across teams and develop solutions to close the gap.
  • Develop and define key metrics and data needs for business processes and systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated quality, systems, or similar experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience with development and use of critical quality tools and quality system elements.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO17025, IATF16949.
  • Preferred: Experience with data queries and data visualization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to see the “big picture”.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment without predefined standards.
  • Ability to execute with a calm and collaborative urgency.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
