Accounts Payable Manager
Redwood Materials is seeking a talented Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing accounting team in Carson City. The Accounts Payable Manager will manage the activities of the Accounts Payable Department, including supplier maintenance and the timely processing of the company’s supplier invoices and payments via check, ACH, wire transfer, and purchasing card. They will also develop the necessary procedures and processes necessary to manage activity accurately and efficiently while maintaining appropriate internal controls.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage the processing of all accounts payable activity which include but are not limited to maintaining the integrity of supplier data records, processing incoming invoice payment requests and ensuring timely issuance of payment.
- Oversee the payment processing through wire transfers, check or ACH.
- Responsible for the supervision, training and performance evaluation of Accounts Payable staff.
- Review and supervise the review of payment request documentation for adherence to company policies; promptly escalate and resolve exception items.
- Establish and document supplier data integrity rules and ensure adherence to them.
- Review business travel and expense reports and external department procurement card transactions in Concur for compliance with company policy.
- Promptly and professionally respond to and resolve inquiries from both internal and external parties.
- Prepare and maintain procedural documentation and other resources for departmental staff and outside suppliers.
- Responsible for IRS reporting requirements as they pertain to Accounts Payable transactions, including processing annual 1099 returns and payment remittances.
- Stay up to date with IRS regulations as they pertain to payments to outside parties.
- Review and make recommendations for Accounts Payable process automation and utilization of tools to improve efficiency.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of accounts payable experience, at least 2 of which in a supervisory capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Experience with large ERP systems preferred (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft D365).

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
