Material Flow Equipment Engineer
Redwood Materials is seeking an entrepreneurial Equipment Engineer to support commercial scale production operations. This engineer will be responsible for leading continuous improvement projects across multiple manufacturing lines. Leveling for this role will be based on experience and demonstration of excellence.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead the specification, procurement, and implementation of capital equipment with regards to automation of material movement.
- Review and provide input on new process/equipment designs.
- Partner with engineering teams to transition newly developed processes and equipment to production scale.
- Train manufacturing personnel on operation of material flow automation and write relevant manufacturing instructions (MI)/standard work.
- Analyze process data and metrics and drive improvements on safety, quality, and cost.
- Troubleshoot and solve material flow process and equipment issues, including controls.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects.
Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, systems, etc).
- 5+ years of equipment engineering experience: demonstrated capability and successful implementation of material flow automation projects.
- Prior experience developing business cases for automation and spearheading capital acquisition processes.
- Experience with structured capital processes, including process/equipment validation.
- Prior experience with industrial scale processes and equipment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Detail-oriented with an analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
- Experience with statistical data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Exposure to technical writing.
- Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office, solid modeling (3D CAD), Siemens controls, manufacturing execution systems (MES), databases, Python.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
