Controls Technician
The Controls Technician’s primary responsibility is to implement and maintain the controls hardware, instrumentation, and electrical equipment at Redwood Materials.
Responsibilities will include:
- Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Fabricate and perform upgrades and repairs to electrical control panels.
- Field wire instrumentation and motor controls.
- Perform and document maintenance calibrations, installations, fault diagnosis, repair of electronic, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems.
- Performs troubleshooting on all instrument systems and process control using P&ID and electrical schematics.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4+ years’ hands-on experience working in an automated manufacturing environment; fabricating and wiring control panels and troubleshooting control systems and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret and follow electrical schematics and competency around voltages up to 480V.
- Troubleshooting, and a knowledge of electromechanical systems is a big plus!

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors.
- Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Indicate if required to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Travel requirements.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
