Staff Technical Program Manager, Capital Projects
Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager, Capital Projects to lead the planning and execution of complex, high-value infrastructure and facility programs. This role requires not only operational excellence in program delivery, but also strategic input into how Redwood scales and deploys new technologies in its fast-growing manufacturing ecosystem.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term physical footprint of Redwood’s operations, partnering closely with engineering, R&D, construction, finance, and executive leadership to align facility development with evolving process technology and business strategy.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution of major capital projects—from site evaluation and facility design to equipment installation and commissioning
- Act as a key strategic advisor in aligning long-term capital project investments with Redwood’s technology roadmap and growth goals
- Partner with R&D and engineering teams to understand technology development timelines and translate them into capital infrastructure needs
- Develop and manage detailed project plans including milestones, critical path tracking, cost forecasts, and risk registers
- Interface with senior leadership to prioritize projects, report progress, and ensure alignment with company strategy and ROI targets
- Lead program governance including stage-gate reviews, contingency planning, and change management across all phases
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and permitting requirements throughout the lifecycle of each capital project
- Develop and refine internal tools, templates, and best practices to improve capital program execution across the organization
Desired Qualifications
- BS/MS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; MBA or PMP certification a plus
- 8+ years of experience leading large-scale capital projects in manufacturing, chemical, or high-tech industrial sectors
- Proven experience integrating new technologies into greenfield or brownfield infrastructure projects
- Strong business acumen with the ability to contribute to capital planning, financial modeling, and technology investment decisions
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Primavera
- A passion for innovation, sustainability, and building things that matter
Physical Requirements:
- Wear proper PPE when necessary
Working Conditions:
- Environment: office, machine shop, wet laboratory, chemical plant, outdoor test sites
- Travel required as needed, less than 10%
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
