Lead Maintenance Technician
The Lead Maintenance Technician role provides the opportunity to lead a team of maintenance technicians on the night shift. This position plays a critical role in keeping our plant running smoothly by leading repairs, technical tasks, and a team of electromechanical maintenance technicians. You will partner closely with Engineering and Operations to minimize downtime while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and urgency. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will provide technical expertise, mentor a team, and ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards.
A Shift: (Sun - Tues and every other Wed) 6am to 6pm
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a team of electromechanical maintenance technicians, providing technical guidance and coaching.
- Schedule and assign tasks to ensure work is completed on time and to required standards.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform routine inspections to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Diagnose and repair complex electromechanical problems, coordinating repairs and component replacements as needed.
- Ensure emergency repairs are completed promptly to minimize production disruptions.
- Enforce and model safety protocols, participating in audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Reinforce performance standards and partner with the Maintenance Site Manager on coaching or disciplinary measures when needed.
- Participate and complete all company-sponsored training and compliance training.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience leading or supervising maintenance teams.
- 5+ years of maintenance or trade experience (Journeyman Electrician, Plumber, Pipe Fitter, etc.).
- Strong background with heavy commercial equipment (mills, crushers, conveyors, pump rebuilds, rotary airlock troubleshooting/replacement, rigging, machine installation, electronic troubleshooting, machine alignments).
- Experience troubleshooting AC/DC electrical systems, motion control, motors, pneumatics, sensors, and PLCs (Allen Bradley).
- Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical systems.
- Skilled in fabrication and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, etc.).
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance software and computer-based applications.
- Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude during challenging times.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
