Description
Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. As a Thermal-Fluids Analyst at Stoke, you will be responsible for developing both detailed and system level thermal and fluids models that provide key insights into the performance of our critical systems. This role will have the opportunity to directly impact how we architect, design and operate our vehicles through analysis work performed. You will work closely with other engineers throughout Stoke to accomplish these objectives. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can’t be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Responsibilities
- Build propellant tank thermodynamic models of vehicle stages and fluid subsystems to both provide requirements and verify system performance
- Build both system level and detailed thermal models of the launch vehicle and its components to derive qualification levels and verify system performance
- Perform analysis based on these models and iterate to achieve design objectives
- Provide recommendations to other engineering teams based on these analyses
- Contribute to the development of analysis processes and tools
- Document the results of analyses to support reviews and provide inputs to other teams
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in aerospace thermal-fluids analysis
- Demonstrated capability to perform analysis of complex thermo-fluid systems
- Demonstrated capability to perform thermal analysis of both systems and components
- Experience with industry standard tools such as Thermal Desktop & ANSYS Mechanical
- Programming experience in either Python or Matlab
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior work on launch vehicles or liquid fueled rocket engine components

Compensation
Target Levels:
- Level 3 Range: $123,000 - $184,400

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.
