Job Overview
A Manufacturing Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to work closely with Production and Quality team to support customer returns and ensure that manufacturing processes are appropriately followed.
The role is based at our site in Gateshead and reports into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities
In this role the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Follow Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) legislation and local HSE rules, raising issues where necessary
- Provide guidance on product quality issues within the production process
- Provide support to production to enable product confirmation, containment, and rework activity where required
- Provide support and input when required with customer and supplier concern investigations
- Support production including travel to external manufacturing facilities
- Ensure quality & safety of the manufacturing processes & equipment
- Analyze and troubleshoot manufacturing yield issues at EMS or Turntide Production sites
- Support 8D investigations
- Support EOL procedures
The Requirements
We’re looking for candidates with the following experience and skills:
- Experience designing & deploying manufacturing process solutions for high volume production
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team
- Ability to create technical documentation and presentation
- Understand Quality & Equipment Safety standards
- Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Understand EOL procedures
Bonus Points
It would also be great (but not essential) if in addition to the above you also had knowledge of one or more of the following:-
- Battery storage solutions / Battery Management Systems
- Power Electronics (Inverters, DC-DCs, OBCs)
- Electric Machines (PMAC, Induction, SRM)
Qualifications
A degree or equivalent in the following discipline is required: Motor Control, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics or similar.
Relevant experience could also be considered.
