WHY VEIR?
Giving everyone in the world access to clean, reliable, affordable energy will require substantial expansion of global electricity transmission networks. VEIR is developing a new generation of High Temperature Superconductor (HTS)-based transmission lines, enabling long distance, reliable, low loss, cost–effective power transfer in far smaller right–of–ways. VEIR’s innovations overcome the main barriers to transmission expansion, enabling the world to access the very lowest cost renewable power.
THE ROLE:
VEIR is seeking a qualified Head of People and Culture to join our team. This individual will lead VEIR’s Human Resources initiatives and will maintain and oversee the advancement of VEIR’s vibrant workspace.

You Are:

  • A human resources professional who has demonstratable experience performing a similar role in a fast-paced technical startup environment.
  • Committed to developing a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce and working effectively with people with different work styles and backgrounds.

  • An excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communicator, comfortable working with VEIR employees, leadership, and executives
  • Experienced in developing, implementing, and scaling organization-wide initiatives, managing staff, and advising members of an Executive Team.
  • Experienced in working with Leadership, Executive Teams, IT system administrators, and legal staff to resolve issues.
  • Committed to VEIR’s mission and goals.

You Will:

  • Develop and implement corporate plans and strategies for a variety of human resources matters such as compensation, benefits, health and safety, training, performance management, and policy development
  • Reinforce VEIR’s mission, principles, standards, work environment, and culture across all human resources aspects of its business practices.
  • Foster, cultivate, and preserve VEIR’s culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion and support employees in expanding VEIR's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
  • Manage VEIR’s staffing process, including identifying staffing needs, identifying and interviewing candidates, and hiring and onboarding new employees.
  • Utilize performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to VEIR’s staff and Leadership Team
  • Advise staff on professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure VEIR job descriptions are current and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure VEIR’s HR practices are current and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Basic Qualifications

  • An Advanced Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a similar discipline with five years of experience in a similar role, or a Bachelor's Degree with ten years of experience in a similar role.
  • Human Resources experience in a fast-paced business environment, preferably a technology development startup
  • Professional certifications in training and development are a plus.
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site, in VEIR’s corporate headquarters in Woburn, MA
